Ballet Performance Framework

for children’s ballet productions

Over the years, we have developed and refined a structured approach to creating children’s ballet performances, combining classical ballet with live piano and flute, and optional additional elements.

This work has been formalised into the Ballet Performance Framework: a complete artistic structure that ballet schools can adapt for their own stage productions.

The Framework focuses on the most complex and time-consuming part of producing a ballet performance for children: defining a theme, selecting appropriate music, structuring the show, choosing tempos, cutting music, and creating coherent transitions.

What the Ballet Performance Framework is

The Ballet Performance Framework is a complete artistic architecture for children’s ballet performances of approximately 40-45 minutes.

It provides:

  • a clear thematic framework

  • a tested running order

  • age-appropriate progression for ballet students

  • musical structure designed for piano and flute

  • tempo and transition logic adapted to young dancers

It is designed to be usable independently, without consulting.

How it works

The Blueprint provides a tested ballet performance model.

Schools may:

  • create their own choreographies

  • adapt formations and technical level

  • use live piano and flute or recorded music

  • simplify musical elements when needed

Who this is for

The Ballet Performance Framework is designed for:

  • Ballet schools producing annual or end-of-year performances

  • Ballet teachers working with children and teens

  • Schools collaborating with pianists or small instrumental ensembles

  • Institutions seeking stronger musical and artistic coherence in ballet productions

It is not intended for non-ballet styles or beginner teaching projects.

Optional extended materials

For institutions seeking a more comprehensive solution, an extended version of the Ballet Performance Framework may be available by request.

This extended version can include:

  • choreographic material developed specifically for each production

  • adapted piano and flute scores

  • simplified arrangements for young musicians

Availability of extended materials depends on the institution’s needs and production context and is discussed on a case-by-case basis.
